Upper Extremity Tendon Injuries: Advances in Clinical Management
This basic to intermediate level course is designed for therapists who want to enhance their theoretical knowledge in treating a variety of common conditions. The course addresses anatomy of the hand, wound healing, edema formation and management of various common hand conditions. Video clips and animation of injury, pathomechanics and treatment are presented to further enhance the educational experience.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of course, therapist will:
- understand the anatomy of the hand
- recognize and demonstrate the various methods used in evaluating the hand and its dysfunction
- identify the different zones of flexor and extensor tendon injuries
- learn the management of various zones specific flexor and extensor tendon injuries
- learn the management of fractures of the wrist and hand
- understand and treat common cumulative trauma disorders
